SCP won Gold and Silver Awards at the 7th Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) Awards 2021

On 16th September 2021, the Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) held the Presentation of awards for 7th SIP Planning Awards 2021 at URA Function Hall with live streaming.  This biennial event attracted participation from both local and international planning and design consultancy firms. The winners are selected from a total of 93 submissions received by a distinguished panel of judges from diverse international backgrounds from Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. SCP Consultants Pte Ltd won Gold in Excellence in Planning for Environment Resiliency category and Silver in Excellence in Planning < 500 & up to 500Ha category. 

Gold in Excellence in Planning for Environment Resiliency category – Ecological Planning for Nenjiangwan Wetland Park in Da’an City Jilin Province China


The project is located on the West Bank of Nenjiang River in the east of Da'an City, with a total planning area of 32 sqkm. The design focuses on ecological protection, restoration of wetlands and coordinated city development. 4 strategies have been proposed – Water System Treatment, Green Conservation, Culture Inheritance, and Industrial Prosperity, to realize the harmonious symbiosis between the city and the wetland park.



Silver in Excellence in Planning < 500 & up to 500Ha category – Back to Water Town Dreamland-Baidian Xibo District Plan


The project is located in Baidian Town, Hai’an City, Jiangsu Province, 40km from Hai’an City urban area, with a total planning area of 41 ha. The design focuses on ecological priority, allowing human-wildlife coexistence through restoring animal habitats, allowing scenic spots- villagers coexistence through organizing life with sustainable measures, and allowing local fishing culture through “Fish” theme tourism product. 


Joining the SIP's planning awards presentation ceremony online, Ms Indranee Rajah, Minister in the Prime Minister's Office as well as Second Minister for Finance and Second Minister for National Development said “to achieve the optimal outcomes, it is imperative that planners from both the private and public sectors collaborate”. SIP president Wilfred Loo introduced the development history, latest achievements and future work plans of Singapore Institute of Planners. Urban Renewal Authority's Chief Planner Hwang Yu-Ning also attended the ceremony. 

SCP will make effort in creating better urban spaces and achieve better results in the 8th SIP Awards two years later. SCP would like to thank you the governments and authorities of Da’an City and Hai’an City for their support and  the project teams for their hard work.
