The Suzhou traditional gardens are the representative of China gardens, which have been listed in UNESCO World Heritage in 1997, and also the first batch of national civilized scenery tourist area demonstration site. Apart from famous Humble Administrator's Garden, Lion Grove Garden, Tiger Hill, there are many well-known typical samples of Suzhou garden such as the former residences of ancient celebrities and courtyards.

Despite the large number of gardens in Suzhou, there is an urgent need to protect them. As such, the Suzhou government announced the first batch of "Suzhou Gardens Protection List", through classification protection approach to manage these dispersed gardens, there are total 33 gardens in the list.

Apart from the "Suzhou Gardens Protection List" which will be released in batches, Director Chen also introduced the establishment of Suzhou gardens traditional protection management system. From now on, the work will focus on dispersed gardens protection and revitalization.
